CAF Comic Strip Debuts
November 24, 2008 – CAF launches its new online comic strip, “Thal Pals,” today. The first episode of the strip can be seen below. New episodes will be posted every other Monday. (Story continues after comic strip.)

Written by CAF National Communications Director Craig Butler and drawn by John Thornton, “Thal Pals” will center around a number of different characters with thalassemia.
“I’m really excited to be offering this strip,” says Craig, ” and I look forward to getting feedback from the thalassemia community as we go along. And I’m especially anxious to get some feedback on the name. Should we keep ‘Thal Pals’ as the name? Or do you have a name that you think would be better? The comic strip will be archived so that strips will be available for reading.
CAF will also be launching an online “serial” in the coming weeks – an ongoing story dealing with characters with thalassemia and their families.
Funding for Thal Pals comes from an unrestricted educational grant from Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
