April 8 Rally for Medical Research
April 3, 2013 – Over 150 national organizations and institutions will hold a Rally for Medical Research in Washington, D.C. on April 8. at 11:00 a.m.The purpose of the Rally is to publicly express support for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a national priority and raise awareness among the general public about the importance of continued investment in biomedical research.
The Rally will consist of a one-hour-and-fifteen minute program featuring NIH Director Francis Collins, M.D., Ph.D.; House Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.); House Budget Committee Ranking Member Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.); and most importantly, the survivors of many of the diseases and conditions that affect so many individuals and families in the U.S. and all over the world.
When: Monday, April 8 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Where: The Carnegie Library, which is the building just across the street from the Washington D.C., Convention Center at K and 9th Streets, NW
