NIH Schedules Thalassemia Workshop
March 25, 2009 – The National Institutes of Health, the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases will hold a special thalassemia workshop on May 20 and 21. Entitled “Workshop on Thalassemia: Clinical Priorities and Clinical Trials,” the event will be held in Rockville, MD.
This meeting will serve as a forum for members of the thalassemia community (clinical investigators, basic scientists, patients and patient advocates) to discuss important issues concerning the areas of focus for future clinical trials, as well as questions of feasibility in conducting such trials, and assist NHLBI in planning the next generation of thalassemia clinical studies.
