Final Let Your Heart Dance in Staten Island on February 16
January 18, 2019 – The CAF New Jersey Chapter invites all to attend the 31st Annual “Let Your Heart Dance” on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Staten Island Hilton Garden Inn. This will be the final year that this event will be held, so mark your calendar and get your best dancing shoes ready for this last opportunity to experience this magical evening.
“Let Your Heart Dance” is one of the Foundation’s most highly-anticipated events of the year, and a truly special way to celebrate Valentine’s weekend. The dinner-dance was launched 30 years ago by former CAF President Frank Somma and Deborah Somma. They wanted to host a special event to celebrate their daughter Alicia, who was at the time a baby just diagnosed with Cooley’s anemia. In the 30 years since then, this event has grown to over 400 attendees who share their hearts in celebration of life and love, all while raising funds to support thalassemia medical research.
The evening begins at 7:30pm with a cocktail reception complete with a top shelf open bar, followed by a seated dinner at 8:30pm. Each table seats 12 people, and you can reserve a full table for your family and friends or just two seats for you and your Valentine. Of course, it wouldn’t be the “Let Your Heart Dance” without dancing, so bring your dancing shoes! Be sure to RSVP by January 25 because tickets will not be sold at the door. Also featured will be the “Let Your Heart Share” journal. Unlike traditional event journals featuring commercial ads, this journal is a sentimental keepsake of the evening. You can dedicate a page to a loved one, or you can submit an inspirational message, tribute, poem, bible passage, favorite quotes or lines from your favorite song.
