2009-2010 Patient Incentive Awards Applications Available
September 16, 2009 – The Cooley’s Anemia Foundation invites all thalassemia patients in the United States to participate in the 2009-2010 Patient Incentive Awards Program.

| CAF will be holding monthly telephone informational/support “call-ins” starting in September. These telephone conference calls will provide an opportunity for a group of patients to get to know each other, obtain information and share their own experiences and knowledge with other patients. Kathleen Durst, CAF’s Social Worker, will facilitate the call-ins, which will be held in the evenings. Each call will focus on topics of interest to people with thalassemia, such as school/work issues, relationship challenges, financial and insurance matters, disability, and other topics suggested by members of the group. We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to connect with other people with thalassemia in a way that can benefit both you and others. These awards are available to Cooley’s anemia patients currently enrolled in college/university studies (undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate) and to students enrolled in certificate study programs.
The due date for completed applications will be December 31, 2009. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
