CAF Informational Webinar on FDA-Approved Gene Therapy for Thalassemia
The US FDA recently approved bluebird bio’s cell-based gene therapy for the treatment of adult and pediatric patients with beta-thalassemia who require regular red blood cell transfusions. This is very exciting news and we know many members of the thalassemia community have questions about it.
Dr. Sujit Sheth, Chief of the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine, will present information concerning the medical aspects of gene therapy, and representatives from bluebird bio will provide more information on matters related to this gene therapy and its availability.
