Staten Island Chapter Tees Off Great Golf Outing April 27

January 31, 2011 – Shrug off those “not more snow!” winter blues by signing up for the Staten Island chapter’s 2011 Golf Outing on April 27 – by which date those mounds of snow will be a distant memory.

This annual golf outing is always a special treat. First, it’s at Staten Island’s beautiful South Shore Country Club, which AmericanGolf.com describes as being at “the top of the local’s ‘Best Places to Play’ list.” The site also mentions “the generous fairways (that) often call for length off the tee (and) the small greens demand precision iron play.”

AmericanGolf.com wraps it up by saying “if you are looking for a fun place to play, away from the hustle and bustle of the City, then South Shore Golf Course should be your home course.”

Beyond the course, the outing also benefits from a tasty barbecue lunch and a great cocktail hour-and-dinner ending – and, of course, from the chance to be out on the links with your friends, colleagues and business associates. The Golf Outing Committee, chaired by Robert Aiello and Edward Keshecki, goes above and beyond the call of duty to make this a smooth-running, detail-oriented event.

Finally, and most importantly, it’s a fun way to do good, since the dollars raised go straight to helping the fight against thalassemia.

The registration and barbecue lunch begin at 11:00, with a shotgun start at 1:00. Cocktails and dinner are scheduled for 6:00. A foursome package is available for $740; an individual reservation is $185, and non-golfing partners and friends can attend the cocktail/dinner event for $100 per person.
