Staten Island Blood Drive on August 2
July 13, 2015 – Roll up your sleeves, residents of Staten Island, NY: The Staten Island chapter of CAF and Our Lady of Pity Church are once again holding a summer blood drive, this year on Sunday, August 2 from 8:15 to 2:15. The drive will be held in the Cardinal O’Connor Center at the Church, 1616 Richmond Avenue.
The summer is always a very difficult time for maintaining the blood supply, as donations tend to drop off significantly when schools are out of session and people are away on vacations. But the need for blood doesn’t lessen, and your donation is instrumental in increasing the supply during these hard times.
In order to donate, a person must weigh more than 110 pounds and be 17 to 75 years of age. (16-year-olds can donate with parental consent; those over 75 can donate with a doctor’s note.) Please bring valid ID when donating and have a good meal and drink fluids before donating.
For additional information, please contact the rectory at 718-761-5421.
