Registration Now Open for 2018 Patient-Family Conference

March 26, 2018 – Registration is now open for CAF’s 2018 Patient-Family Conference! This year’s Conference will be held from July 6-8 at the Westin Atlanta Airport Hotel in Atlanta, GA. The 2018 Patient-Family Conference is a unique opportunity for U.S. individuals with thalassemia and their family members (parents, siblings, spouses, etc.) to meet other members of the community and learn important information that can have a positive impact on their health and their lives.

We will also be holding special Thalassemia 101 introductory session on Friday, July 6 at 4:30 for families who are new to the community or who may feel that they need a refresher in some of the “basics” about thalassemia.

There is no registration fee for U.S. patients, family members and health care providers attending the Conference. CAF is also pleased to make the Conference meals (Friday reception; Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner; Sunday brunch) available free of charge to U.S. patients, family members and health care providers. Non-U.S. patients and families may attend at a rate of $400 per person; non-U.S. patients should contact Eileen Scott at CAF (

U.S. patients/family members who would like to attend the Conference but find travel expenses beyond their current means should contact Patient Services Manager Eileen Scott at no later than May 1, 2018.

CAF has also arranged a special hotel room rate of $127.42 per night ($109.00 + 16.90% tax). This rate is valid for up to 4 people in the same room. Reservations must be made by Thursday, June 7. For details on hotel reservations, visit
