On August 18, Friends of Anthony Nasso held their second annual Car Wash in memory of Nasso, a thalassemia patient who passed away in May, 2007. Organized by Nicole Mollano and Jessica Isaksen and involving a group of people who were close friends with Anthony, the Car Wash in Middletown, NJ raised more than $1,000, a very impressive amount for this kind of undertaking and a testament to the spirit, generosity, commitment and loyalty of Anthony Nasso’s friends.

On September 5, Michael Patrick’s 3rd Annual Jersey Country Revival was held at Brewster’s Bar & Grill in Bradley Beach, NJ. A dozen New Jersey country music acts, including headliner John Eddie, jammed the day away for CAF, raising more than $1,200 in the process. Audience members were treated to some great roots music by a variety of performers, as well as raffles, contests and prizes.

CAF thanks all those involved with both of these events for their willingness to go the extra mile to help people with thalassemia. It is the dedication of such people that enables CAF to continue to fund medical research and offer valuable patient services to those meeting the challenges of thalassemia.
