Join CAF and Opera Singer Christopher Macchio at Columbus Day Parade

October 6, 2011 – The only thing better than cheering the participants in New York City’s Columbus Day Parade is being one of those participants yourself – and now you can be! Come on out and join CAF’s Columbus Day Parade float, and our special guest of honor, opera singer Christopher Macchio, as we march up Fifth Avenue on Monday, October 10.

This is an excellent way to celebrate the holiday while helping us spread awareness about thalassemia. And it’s a rare chance to meet Christopher Macchio, the exciting young tenor whom one critic termed “Brando-esque;” you can hear cuts from his new recording, Dolci Momenti (Sweet Moments) by clicking here and then clicking through to the recordings page.

The CAF float will be on 47th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues; participants should arrive no later than 11:00 a.m. For more information, contact Nathalia Perozo at n.perozo@cooleysanemia.org or (212) 279-8090 x 208 before the end of the day on Friday, October 7; after that time, contact Gina Cioffi at (347) 680-2938 if you have any questions. (Please take Gina’s cell phone number with you on Monday.)

We can’t wait to see you there! Grazie!
