Girl Scout Troop Joins AZ Thalassemia Families in Tempe Bike Race
October 6, 2011 – Arizona Girl Scout Junior Troop #834 is joining Arizona Thalassemia Families in the October 23 Tour de Tempe community bike race, utilizing the race as a way of raising funds for CAF.
The troop will donate money to CAF for every girl scout who participates in the event; in addition, the troop will provide free breakfast to all Arizona Thalassemia Families bike riders. Anyone interested in riding as part of the Arizona Thalassemia Families should contact Antoni Foe at afsf@cox.net by October 14 so that the troop will know how much food to prepare for breakfast.
This is the 16th annual Tour de Tempe, which starts at Kiwanis Park (6111 S. All America Way) in Tempe. Registration is at 7:30 a.m.; the ride starts at 9:00. Helmets are required. A short sleeve artist-designed t-shirt will be distributed to the first 850 registrants.
You can register online up to October 19 (click here); after October 19, you must register the day of the event. The bike ride is free.
CAF thanks the Arizona Thalassemia Families and Girl Scout Junior Troop #834 for all their hard work and dedication to fighting thalassemia.
