FDA Committee Meeting to Review Ferriprox Cancelled
September 29, 2009 – The meeting was scheduled for October 6.
Dear Patients and Families,
We have received notification that the October 6, 2009, FDA (Food and Drug Administration) Advisory Committee hearing to review the application for Ferriprox has been cancelled. According to the FDA website, the meeting has been cancelled to allow time for the FDA to review and resolve several outstanding issues. The Agency intends to continue evaluating the application and, as needed, may schedule an Advisory Committee meeting in the future.
We will continue to keep you updated on the status of this application.
