6-Year-Old Daniela Interviewed for Fox News

March 29, 2019 – CAF is so proud of Daniela Ciriello, who at only 6 years old is doing so much to raise awareness about thalassemia. Daniela has the blood disorder beta thalassemia major and must receive blood transfusions every three weeks to survive. But she doesn’t let her thalassemia stop her from dreaming and reaching for the stars!

In addition to being a competitive dancer, Daniela dedicates her time to visiting blood drives throughout the year to share her story with blood donors and to thank them for keeping her and others with thalassemia alive. As if Daniela isn’t busy enough, she is now an honorary member of the UConn Huskies, the University of Connecticut’s women’s basketball team!

Fox News recently interviewed Daniella about her experience living with thalassemia and what it’s like to be an official member of the UConn Huskies.
