CDC Features Patient Profile in Honor of International Thalassemia Day on May 8, 2019
May 8, 2019 – International Thalassemia Day – which is commemorated each May 8th – is a very special day for our thalassemia community. On this day, we pause to remember our friends who are no longer with us. We also celebrate all patients who are trying to live their best lives while managing the demands of this chronic disease. Every year, we select one patient to profile on International Thalassemia Day. This year, we are featuring Tracy Antonelli – a patient with thalassemia Intermedia who adopted 3 girls from China who also have thalassemia.
