CAF Webinar on COVID-19 and Thalassemia is Saturday, Nov. 21
November 10, 2020 – Cooley’s Anemia Foundation is hosting a special webinar on Saturday, November 21 at 1:00 pm (Eastern) on “COVID-19 and Thalassemia.” Many members of the U.S. thalassemia community have questions about COVID-19 itself and in what ways it might affect individuals with thalassemia. We are honored to have as presenters for this webinar Dr. Priya Nori and Dr. Sujit Sheth.
Dr. Nori, who will provide basic information about COVID-19 itself, is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She serves as Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) and outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy program (OPAT) at Montefiore Health System and is Program Director of the Infectious Diseases (ID) fellowship program.
Dr. Sheth, who will focus on COVID-19 in thalassemia, is the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Attending Pediatrician at NewYork-Presbyterian Phyllis and David Komansky Children’s Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Sheth is Director of New York Comprehensive Thalassemia Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
