CAF Looking to Fill 2 Positions
January 14, 2010 – The Cooley’s Anemia Foundation (CAF), a non-profit dedicated to battling the blood disease Cooley’s anemia (a.k.a. thalassemia), is hiring for two positions: a Walk Coordinator for its first National Care Walk, scheduled for May 1, 2011, as well as a part time fund raising associate.
Coordinator:
The Care Walk will be a series of walks in communities across the United States held to raise awareness of thalassemia and funds for CAF.
Ideal candidate will have substantial experience in organizing events, be focused and have the ability to work flexible hours (including some evenings and weekends). Must be a good people person, with the ability to both coordinate and motivate, and must be comfortable approaching potential corporate sponsors.
Office is located in midtown Manhattan; will consider telecommuting for exceptional candidates, but some presence in office is required. Position is temporary, running from early January, 2011, through May 31, 2011. Monthly stipend plus modest commission.
Fund raising associate:
We also need someone to work on fundraising and development projects. This is a part time position that can later develop into full time.
