25 Patients Receive Incentive Awards

May 6, 2009 – With the current recession, CAF’s Patient Incentive Awards are more valuable than ever. The Foundation is happy to announce that 25 thalassemia patients received a total of $29,500.00 in Patient Incentive Awards this year.

Any thalassemia major or intermedia patient pursuing higher education who is a U.S. resident can apply for one of these awards, which range from $250 reimbursement for students in certificate programs to up to $2,000 for students enrolled in MD, PhD or JD programs.

This year’s Award recipients are majoring in a wide range of subjects, including Journalism; Secondary Math Education; Nursing; Internal Medicine; Biochemistry; and Law.

CAF congratulates all Award recipients and wishes them well in their studies and careers.
