TIF Seeks US Patients to Test New Programs

March 9, 2016 – The Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF) is seeking U.S. patients to help test two new projects geared toward the thalassemia community. The projects, the ThaliMe app and a Thal e-Course, are described below.

Those interested in participating or learning more should contact TIF at thalassaemia@cytanet.com.cy.

ThaliMe: TIF seeks 10 patients to pilot this Smart Phone app, intended to give people living with thalassemia, their families and caregivers a private mobile support network and a set of tools to simplify daily management and monitor overall health. According to TIF, patients selected to test the program who stay with the program for three months will receive a symbolic remuneration of about $300 US.

Thal e-Course: TIF seeks 10 patients to pilot this electronic platform, the aim of which is to educate patients on thalassemia and its management. The program consists of three courses which in turn consist of 5 modules each. TIF states that “for every patient that completes this course, TIF proposes to reduce and/or completely waive registration fees to any TIF organized regional and/or international educational event.”
