NYS OSIA Dine Around Set for April 3

January 25, 2012 – The New York State Grand Lodge of OSIA (Order Sons of Italy in America) has set its 2012 Dine-Around for Cooley’s Anemia for Tuesday, April 3 – and Michele Sewitch plans to be there for sure.

“I attended my first Dine Around two years ago,” Michele says. “I wanted to attend an event other than the ones that are held in my own lodge (Gallileo Gallilei #2253 in Hicksville, of which Michele is Corresponding Secretary – ed.). I enjoyed myself so much that I went last year and intend on going every year!”

For the Dine Around, some of Long Island’s finest restaurants provide a variety of dishes from which diners choose.

“The whole idea of it is great,” says Michele. “So many restaurants come out and supply the food for all those people! And there are so many varieties of food as you go around to each restaurant; one is even better than the next.”

To anyone wondering whether s/he should come, Michele says simply, “Delicious food, great company and supporting such an amazing cause- what more could you want?? It’s a really enjoyable night out!”

She also has a message for everyone living with thalassemia: “Stay positive and keep fighting! If organizations like OSIA keep putting together these profitable fundraising events, there is hope out there that a cure will soon be developed!”

The Dine Around runs from 7:00-10:00 on April 3 at Verdi’s of Westbury, 680 Old Country Road in Westbury, NY. Cost is only $45.00 per person; for more information and reservations, contact Joan Rondinelli at (516) 799-0044.
