January 28 Blood Drive in New Hyde Park

January 13, 2010 – New York State Senator Craig Johnson, the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department and the North Lakeville and Lakeville Estates Civic Associations, in collaboration with New York Blood Center, will hold a blood drive on Thursday, January 28, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department, 21 78th Avenue, in New Hyde Park, NY.

 

Eligibility Criteria for Blood Drive

Age: 16-75 (16 year olds must have parental permission. Age 76 and over need doctor’s note.)

Minimum weight: 110 pounds

Bring ID with signature or photo.

Eat well (low fat) & drink fluids.

No tattoos for past 12 months.

Blood drives are of special importance to the thalassemia community, providing the blood that is the staple of treatment for individuals with beta thalassemia major.

CAF encourages all eligible volunteers in the area to come out on January 28 and make a donation of “The Gift of Life.”
