CAF Receives $100,000 Grant from ApoPharma

April 12, 2013 – The Cooley’s Anemia Foundation is pleased to announce the receipt of an unrestricted educational grant in the amount of $100,000 from ApoPharma. This money will be used to support a range of CAF programs and services, including major sponsorship of the upcoming CAF 2013 Patient~Family Conference in Philadelphia on June 28-30.

“The Foundation greatly appreciates this substantial grant from ApoPharma, which will assist us in providing outstanding services to those affected by thalassemia,” says Gina Cioffi, CAF National Executive Director. “We are especially pleased that a significant portion of this grant will be used to help fund the annual Patient~Family Conference, which is one of the Foundation’s most important programs.”

ApoPharma is a pharmaceutical company based in Canada. Among its products is Ferriprox, an oral iron chelator which is used to treat iron overload in thalassemia.
